Additional Summary of Talk

The prophet Isaiah tells stories about feasts as a way to talk about what God is doing in the world--the Lord's salvation as a banquet for all the nations (Isaiah 25:6). In this talk Isaac will recount stories from the Scriptures, from his own life, from what he's seen--all to bear witness to God's hospitality, in contrast to U.S. border politics and immigration policing. The Spirit of the Lord is at work, going before us, enlivening communities of care despite efforts to tear apart immigrant families. There is devastation all around us. And there is a God who dwells with the abandoned, with the persecuted--a God who invites us to plant seeds of perseverance, to turn our lives into reasons for hope.
