The approved lectionary readings for funeral masses can be found on the USCCB website. The links below are to be used when filling out your Planning a Funeral Mass form. Please record the book, chapter and verses on your planning form.Choose one Scripture for the first reading
- If the funeral mass is NOT during Easter Season, the first reading is from the Old Testament.
- If the funeral mass is during the Easter Season, the 50 days from Easter Sunday to Pentecost Sunday, the first reading is taken from the New Testament.
