    • Who are Vincentians?

Blessed Frederic Ozanam (1813-1853) founded the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. He was a young Sorbonne student who met regularly with his fellow Catholic students to discuss the issues of their time. At one of their public meetings, a challenger admitted the Catholic Church, at one time, had been a great source of good, but asked, “What is your Church doing now?"

We are members of Society of St. Vincent de Paul – We are Vincentians.
To be a Vincentian is to have a particular way of living our faith,

and to pursue our primary calling as Christians, as Catholics.
    • What is a Conference?

Conferences are groups of volunteers who seek to grow and develop their spirituality through friendship and person-to-person service. Traditionally, a Conference is formed at a Catholic Church; however, a Conference may be formed among any group of like-minded people who desire to help those in need.
Each Conference may decide their own types of help. All Conference follow the rules of the much larger organization of St. Vincent de Paul Society that was founded in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam.
    • St. Andrew Conference

Carlos Martinez, President of our St. Vincent de Paul Conference, has a message on the impact your donations have in our area. Click here to see how your giving works close to home!

The groundwork for our Conference began in the Fall 2023 and became active in the Spring 2024.
St. Andrew Conference is composed of 30 men and women, known as Vincentians, who came together to foster the spirit of friendship, spirituality, and service. We have bi-monthly meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month to assess our neighbors need and discuss ways we may better serve those around us.

There are many roles available in our Conference:
      • Officers - President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary
      • Intake Caller Specialists - They are the first point of contact for a neighbor - periodically assigned to check phone line and call back Neighbors in need to get initial information. (click here for more info)
      • Home Visitors - Teams of two Vincentians visit the neighbors in their home to understand their needs, recommends a way forward for them, offering help, and resources if needed. (click here for more info)
      • Communications - Works with parish communications office to inform the community of SVdP activities.
      • Spiritual Advisor - Leads reflection and prayer at conference meetings based on the teachings and mission of the Society of SVdP.
      • Fundraiser - Assist in raising awareness for organization and impact that donations can have on assisting our neighbors in need.
