“Immigration is not merely a matter of public policy or law enforcement;
it touches the very heart of our faith.
Every person is created in the image of God and deserves dignity, compassion, and care.”— Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama

Who are we?We are a group of parishioners who feel called to welcome, serve, and advocate for our immigrant brothers and sisters. We offer compassionate support to immigrants and opportunities for formation to our fellow parishioners so our parish community continues to honor the dignity of every person.
-
What have we been up to?
- In early April, we had folks sign posterboards thanking Bishop Zarama for his support of immigrants in our Diocese. Thanks to the hundreds of parishioners who signed our boards.
- This summer, the Wake Interfaith Immigration Network invites people of faith across Wake County to gather, learn, and grow together through From Stranger to Neighbor, a four-part education series running from June through August. Learn more here.
- 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees
The weekend of September 26 - 27, our parish joined the global Church in recognizing the World Day of Migrants and Refugees. Pope Leo's theme this year, "Even Just One of These Children," inspired our outreach. We provided special prayer packets and materials to the children. We also held a successful postcard campaign after all masses. Parishioners signed postcards to our state representatives and Bishop Zarama, strongly opposing the planned 1,400-bed for-profit ICE detention center in Winton, NC, and advocating for humane, community-based solutions instead. We got 161 signatures and 238 postcards were signed and delivered to our legislators.
